Word War 6.8.10

 WORD WAR

Tonight we're doing a Word War!  We'll be starting at eight o' clock eastern time and going until nine.  I know of at least one other person besides myself who will be going for another hour after nine until ten, so if you want to stick around for another one, go ahead.
Basically how Word War's work is we wait until the start time (eight), then we sit down at your computer and type like a maniac on whatever you may be working on.  I'll be writing in my book, Tales of a Rider, but you can also be writing essay's, articles, poems, anything.  After one hour is up we post our total word count in the comments section and see who got the most.
I bid you good luck... Er, Endurance and Victory.

Word War 3.16.10

WORD WAR!!  If you haven't done a Word War before, I'll explain it.  At 8:00 tonight we'll start.  Before then, any time, post your current word count for your chapter, novella, whatever it is you're working on.  Then, at 8:00, write like a maniac until 9:00.  At the end, post how many words you wrote and we'll see who won!  Remember though, it's not about winning, it's about encouraging each other in our writing.
Note:  8:00 and 9:00 are both Eastern Time Zone, if you are in another time zone, adjust in accordingly.

Also, tonight I'll post the poll for the templates, voting continues until tomorrow night where I'll see which one won and make the final decision on the permanent template for The Narrowing Road!

Edit:  Change of time, start time is 6:30, end time 7:30, still EST.

WORD WAR 2.12.10

OK, so this WORD WAR is special.  Tonight we will start the Word War(s) at 6:00, going til 7:00, then we do another one after a 30 minute break at 7:30 and end at 8:30, when we again take a break and do the last Word War from 9:00 to 10:00.  So, everybody hopefully knows how a Word War works, we type as fast as we can, no stopping.  No editing.  No-well maybe some- thinking.  Just type.  So, who's in?

Word War Tonight

First Word War tonight!  Starting at 8:00 EST and running until 9:00 EST we try to get as many points as possible.  Whoever wins and gets the most points within the hour will get their name, the name of their novel, and their word count for that hour posted in the Word War Archives page.  I'm not sure if that's exactly an honor, but it is a fun way to keep up with the top typers.  So, in the comments, state the chapter or the novel your working on and the current word count before this Word War.
Chapter 7,
Upgrades,
Current Word Count: Zero

Also, I just recently finished the Isle of Swords by Wayne Thomas Batson, and I will be posting my review on that in a few days.

Word wars, pages, and a thought about writing

Most people following my blog know what a Word War is, but just to make sure, I'm going to explain it.  A Word War is when a group of people get together for one hour(standard) or more, or less, so pretty much any amount of time to have a competition to see who can get the most points in the set time.  Whoever wins, well, is the fastest writer.  So, why have I mentioned this?  I will be hosting some Word Wars every once in a while, hopefully frequently, for you guys and for myself.  Also if you have noticed, one of my pages(explained a little later in this post) is titled "Word War Archives", on those pages I will be posting the winners of past Word Wars winners and their totals.

Secondly, I have recently discovered the way to put more pages on the blog.  If you see directly below my banner, it should have about four links to 'The Narrowing Road', 'Word War Archives', 'Writing Excerpts and Poems', and ' Book Reviews'.  They are pretty self explanatory and The Narrowing Road is just a link to the main blog.  To do this, go to http://draft.blogger.com/home then go to 'new post', and then, on the right, next to 'edit posts' should say, 'edit pages', after that, I think you can figure it out.  So yeah, that's a useful tool methinks.

And, lastly, a writing thought, I say thought because I myself am still just a beginning writer and I'm curious to know your thoughts as well.  So this is simply a thought about writing.  According to some statistics from a website(I forget which) Christian Fantasy is not a top genre on the market.  As in, the general public of buying readers are not purchasing Christian Fantasy(or secular fantasy for that matter), which is pretty sad I think.  Because that means that it will be harder to get my book accepted by publishers.  So that is disheartening.  But I believe that if the Lord has called you to write Christian Fantasy you will, by whatever means He has set in motion, get your book into the hands of the public, because the Lord is in control, nothing changes that.  So, those are my thoughts on the market right now, feel free to comment on what you think.
